I have a pretty small community (7-8000 users) so I can't imagine how large communities would get any usable data. I suppose I could filter on specific activities and then piece it all back together, but see above about not fun and not a productive use of my time. There are more than 50,000 rows of data for a single day in the Content file, but the smallest increment of data I can select is one day. Because of the 50k row limit, I can't get usable data for Content. Not fun and not a productive use of my time. Since there are four different types of file, that means four downloads for each day's data. It's a huge time suck to have to download file after file of daily data to try to make sure no records will be omitted. It looks like I'm going to have to build some way to match on username and look up in some other table the profile data I need. These fields are not part of the data set I can get from Jive DES. The most valuable attributes are our custom profile fields, of course, containing valuable data such as Business Unit. I need to be able to filter my data based on attributes in our user profiles. So I am challenged to join tables, after all. I thought all of the data was going to be in one giant table, but the Jive DES Explorer offers four separate download options. Is that possible, and if so, how is it done? I thought I would be able to connect directly to the Jive Analytics database with a tool such as Tableau. Here are the issues I am encountering and would love to have help resolving: Perhaps I just need simpler directions, which I would be grateful to follow. I'm sorry to say that my initial experience with the Jive DES has been underwhelming in terms of outcomes and overwhelming in terms of difficulty. We just upgraded to Jive Cloud in November and this week is the first chance I have had to dig into the Jive DES. I also read and re-read Using the V2 Jive Data Export Service (Analytics) in the hope that it would walk me through what I needed to know. I even attended the JW14 session by John Hungerford and Dirk McNealy, Jive Data Export Service – Turbo-Charge Your Jive Integration with Analytics - THURSDAY, OCT 23RD 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM to learn more. It sounded like a terrific resource that would be easy to use. I've been looking forward to using the new Jive Data Export Service ever since Josh Richau first started telling me about it. I've added in updates to the original post that reflect my current understanding. It's important to note that with endlessly patient guidance from Dirk McNealy I eventually mastered getting data from the Jive DES and have found it to be extremely valuable. Like any other software program, BlueStacks has different versions, each building upon the previous one and fixing bugs and issues to improve its performance. Updating the graphics card drivers and enabling virtualization are also essential steps in speeding up BlueStacks. Stop multitasking and close all background apps to give as many CPU resources to Bluestacks as possible. However, since BlueStacks is a demanding app, you need to allocate enough RAM and CPU resources to it so that it can run more smoothly. This version has significant performance improvements over the previous versions and can run much faster. Why Is BlueStacks So Slow? (Reasons, Fixes)īlueStacks is slow mostly because you don’t have the latest version of the emulator. Most of these issues are fixable since they’re related to the app’s settings, and you can improve the performance of BlueStacks easily. However, BlueStacks can run into issues that make it laggy and stutter. This emulator allows you to play Android games on a Windows device, allowing you to have the best of both worlds. Make sure that you have set the correct resolution and DPI settings within BlueStacks by going over to the Settings > Display tab.Running an app for one operating system on another isn’t impossible anymore, thanks to emulators like BlueStacks. If the settings are incorrect, then you will either experience low-quality graphics or run into lag due to incompatible graphics settings. Tweak BlueStacks’ Display Settingsĭisplay settings need to be set correctly if you wish to get optimal performance from a game or an emulator. BlueStacks is a resource-intensive piece of software, so you need to provide it with ample resources in order to run smoothly. Because other software could eat up the RAM and CPU and ultimately lower the performance of the emulator. One simple yet effective solution that really needs a mention here is that when you run BlueStacks on your PC, make sure that there isn’t any other software running in the background. Tap on the “ Search automatically for drivers” option.

Quite a few solutions existed before CodeWhisperer and Copilot were announced. Neither Github nor Amazon discovered the proverbial wheel of software development AI assistants. Top 6 best alternatives to CodeWhisperer 1. It is installed as part of the AWS Toolkit and will work on popular IDEs, including JetBrains IDEs, Visual Studio Code, and, of course, AWS Cloud9.Īccording to Amazon, they train CodeWhisperer on “billions of lines of code drawn from open source repositories, internal Amazon repositories, API documentation, and forums.” Then, you can use CodeWhisperer in your IDE to get recommendations based on previous code lines or comments. But is CodeWhisperer worth trying out if you’re not looking for AWS-specific suggestions in your code? And how does it compare to more established code completion and suggestion tools?Īmazon CodeWhisperer is, according to the official description, a “machine learning (ML)–powered service that aims to improve developer productivity by generating code recommendations based on their comments in natural language and code in the integrated development environment (IDE).” Announced in June 2022, CodeWhisperer is available only upon request to users who apply for the preview period.Īt the time of writing, CodeWhisperer supports code suggestions for Java, Python, and JavaScript projects only. After all, it comes installed with the AWS Toolkit, and the waiting list can’t be long. According to Amazon, CodeGuru (Amazon’s AI code reviewer and performance profiler) and DevOps Guru (a tool for finding operation issues), the company laid the groundwork for CodeWhisperer’s launch years ago.įor heavy AWS users, CodeWhisperer may seem like a logical AI/ML coding assistant choice. Speaking to TechCrunch, Vasi Philomin, Amazon’s VP in charge of AI services, emphasized that the company didn’t create CodeWhisperer to compete with Github’s Copilot. Then, only days after Microsoft put a price tag on Copilot, Amazon announced it would be releasing a preview version of CodeWhisperer for IDEs that support the AWS Toolkit. Github’s code completion tool made waves across the developer community with impressive adoption rates. It’s clear why Amazon chose to release its alternative to Copilot. Amazon defines CodeWhisperer as an “ML-powered coding companion.” Sounds familiar? It might be because Github calls Copilot an “AI pair programmer” – essentially the same thing. The latest addition to the growing list of coding assistants is Amazon CodeWhisperer. Are developers getting lazy? Is there a conspiracy to replace us all with AI-based code generators? Probably not, but it’s easy to suspect so with the apparent onslaught of AI/ML coding assistants from the world’s tech giants. |
